Size & Fit Guide
Size & Fit Guide
Start with fit. Everything else follows.
GQ Gents pieces are built around clean proportions: strong shoulders, balanced jackets, proper trouser drape, and sharp lines without the squeeze.
Jackets
Jackets should balance from the shoulders first. The chest should sit clean. The waist can usually be shaped by a tailor.
A good jacket does not fight your body. It frames it.
Trousers
Trousers should fit through the seat and rise before anything else. Waist and hem adjustments are normal.
Most dress trousers are finished or altered for your preferred length and break.
Shirts
Shirts should close clean at the neck, sit smooth through the chest, and allow movement without ballooning.
Waistcoats
A waistcoat should sit close without pulling. It should cover the waistband and keep the line of the outfit sharp.
Need a starting point?
Use your best-fitting garment as a reference. Measure that piece, not your hopes.
If you are between sizes, choose the size that fits your largest fixed point — usually shoulders for jackets and seat for trousers.
